The GemLife Games are returning to the Sunshine Coast on September 5 and 6, with more than 500 athletes, volunteers, and spectators aged 50 to 80, including a team of 45 from Toowoomba, competing in various sports.

2. Council helps victims of youth vandals

What’s Happening
Families affected by recent vandalism at Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery will receive financial assistance from Toowoomba Regional Council to repair the damaged gravestones.
By the Numbers

Local Impact
The vandalism has deeply affected the community, particularly the families connected to the damaged sites.
The Council’s offer of financial help and hazard rectification aims to assist in the restoration and ensure the safety of the cemetery.

Grand Central has partnered with local schools to create a series of vibrant murals in celebration of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers’ 75th anniversary.
The project officially kicked off on September 2, with students from various schools contributing their artistic talents.
